Happy New Year!
It is Wednesday, so "What is in the Attic with Jim?"
These always seem to be our most popular posts. Jim Hodges, our volunteer Curator, has spent a lot of time in the attic identifying objects, manuscripts, postcards, photos etc. We have published this item before but everyone seems to like it, so let us start off 2020 with a copy of a menu from the Queen Anne Hotel. It once was the home of James Blades, lumber magnate. It later became a beautiful hotel and restaurant. It was at the corner of Middle and Broad Street - the current location of First Citizens Bank. Isn't it a shame that it was torn down?
This is a menu from the Queen Anne Hotel/restaurant dated January 1, 1944. We love the choices and especially the prices!
