Let it Snow!

It is Wednesday, so "What is in the Attic with Jim?"

Since there is a prediction of snow in Eastern Carolina, Jim wanted to show you some photos to know that this has happened before-not frequently, but enough that we have evidence! These photos from the 1890s are from the Albert Brooks Collection of the New Bern Historical Society and are also available at the Kellenberger Room, Craven County Library.  

The first picture is the 300 block of Pollock Street looking west from Craven Street following a snow storm in the 1890s.

 

The second photo of the Neuse River Bridge, ca 1899, shows the frozen Neuse River.  Wonder how many times that has occurred in history?
