On December 16, the New Bern Historical Society was the recipient of Freedom Bearer, a Revolutionary War officer, dedicated that same day by the Bear Town Bears Steering Committee. It was a special occasion with our Board Members, volunteers, members, and other friends of the Historical Society attending.
Linda Lore both sponsored and painted Freedom Bearer, which she donated to the Historical Society in honor of her late husband Dick. One of our Society’s legendary Historians, Dick Lore brought New Bern’s history to life for so many. Thank you, Linda, for your incredible donation and artistry.
