Last weekend’s Heritage Homes Tour took us west on Pollock Street visiting a couple beautiful homes, which might explain why this photo jumped out at us from our collection today!
We love it when old buildings make HUGE restoration comebacks, and this location truly embodies that. You’re looking at the circa 1950s Pat’s Pure Oil Gasoline Station and, in the background, what is today Freshwater Beer Co at the intersection of Fleet and Pollock Streets looking North. We are proud of our friends and supporters at Freshwater – for all that they do for the New Bern community – and for the incredible labor of love they put into their beautiful historic property!
Next time you’re on a stroll, riding your bike, or maybe in an old pickup truck, make a stop at Freshwater to see this great establishment and admire the historical transformation that took place there!
