On Wednesday, we find out "What's in the Attic with Jim?"
We’ve really enjoyed the many images and excitement surrounding the movement and preservation efforts of the Tisdale House last week – that truly was a tremendous feat! With that still fresh in our minds, we wanted to share this unique view of the Tisdale House we discovered. To orient you, this photograph from a 1927 edition of the Sun Journal is taken from the DeGraffenried Park neighborhood facing East on Lucerne Way near the intersection of Fort Totten Drive. In the foreground you see the declining earthworks of Fort Totten, which Union Forces constructed as part of a defensive perimeter around the city in 1862. In the distance to the left, you see several houses lining Broad Street, and the most prominent home at the far end is none other than the Tisdale House! We have had the privilege to watch history unfold as this historic house is now safely situated on Rhem Avenue and can enjoy the stories to accompany that for years to come!
