DESCRIPTION:Black Soldiers in the Civil War\nPresented by Jerilyn Lee\, USCT Historian\nNovember 3rd at Orringer Auditorium\, 2pm\nReservations open September 30 \nDid you know that approximately 198\,000 men served in the United States Colored Troops during the Civil War?  And another 20\,000 served in the U.S. Navy?  And did you know that six of those regiments came from North Carolina? \nCome and hear their stories from USCT historian Jerilyn Lee.  She will share over 100 pictures of USCT soldiers\, NCO’s\, officers\, cavalrymen and U.S. sailors who served during the Civil War. \nJoin the New Bern Historical Society for this special program on Sunday\, November 3rd at 2pm at Craven Community College's Orringer Auditorium at 800 College Court. $10 for Historical Society members\, active duty military\, and students; $12 for nonmembers; reservations are recommended.
