Livingston Taylor Live

Be sure to SAVE THE DATE for Livingston Taylor in Concert at the New Bern River Front Convention Center, Sunday, January 31, 2010.  The New Bern Historical Society is kicking off New Bern’s 300th anniversary with Livingston Taylor, an extremely diverse musician. Livingston has recorded eleven CD’s and recently recorded his twelfth in Nashville with some of the country’s best bluegrass musicians including three noted artists from the “Oh, Brother Where Art Thou?” soundtrack. This CD, to be released in October, is titled “Last Alaska Moon”.  In mid-September Livingston will record his 13th CD, a Broadway compilation with Chesky records in New York.

Livingston is sure to “WOW” New Bern with his array of music, including several top forty hits recorded by Liv and his brother James. He is described as a must-see in concert, a man who knows how to entertain and one of the most consistently tasteful, and intelligent of songsmiths… His musical career has spanned almost forty years. Well liked and respected, he continues to inspire other great musicians to record and perform with him and visit his students at Berklee College of Music. Several musicians who recently visited Berklee at his request are Jimmy Buffet, Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) and James Taylor.

Livingston Taylor has a direct tie to New Bern and is the great-great-great grandson of Isaac Taylor.  His father, Isaac Taylor, was named for this well-known early New Bernian.
